Victoria project
Unmanned - Autonomous Sailboat
It was created, thinking in long distances travels, with high durability, and resistance.
- Autonomous nav (Autopilot)- following the best way, or following pre-set waypoints
- Embedded gps
- Wi-fi tracking & telemetry ~1km
- Multiple sensors logging
- Altimeter - Compass - Inclinometer - Speedmeter - Winds meter - (...)
- Real Time, linux like OS, with High-AI level

21/03/2009 - After 3 days of 34C ~20% H we could get the first complete Hull.
The best formula (according to our weather 35ºC +/- 5º) was 1% Cobalt; 2% Mek
(we tested with 3% mek, but the reaction was catalyzed in 7 minutes :S).
The entire Hull it's near ~6Kgs, we fill the hull of water to perform a Arquimedes law, more than 20-25Kgs of water are needed to get the waterline as it was expeted.
Right now, our current height formula is = Balast(8Kg)+Keel(1,2Kg)+Hull(7Kg w/deck)+Accesories|Electronic(5Kg?), yes, we're near 20Kgs ready to sail.
08/03/2009 - It's painted now with yellow acrylic car paint.
The surface it's really soft and ready to do the final sanding with #1000-1200 sand paper.
04/03/2009 - A lot of university exams, I get good marks, but it was really hard to update this page
We have been milling the mold, also sanding, sanding, and sanding...
On this picture we give a first painting with primer.
25/01/2009 - Getting the matt fiber ready to action...
25/01/2009 - The Epoxy mold was taken, the catalizer taken was 7%, it was a huge mold to build, we use that amount to be sure that the time would be good enought to finish all the hull on time.
27/01/2009 - We are not having sunny days, also the temperature it is around 20 C, not too happy news, we hope to have We afraid that the mold could be affected by the weather...
It has 3 different paintings, also more than +50 hours of sanding.
Estimated Time: Painting 3 hours
Sanding 50 hours
